Pour Ma Terre Natale
This project began with listening. Each participant shared a message in their mother tongue—words of home, distance, belonging. These voices became part of the work, guiding the process and shaping each piece.
Each painting was inspired not only by the meaning of a specific message but also by the rhythm, melody, and musicality of the language in which it was spoken. The paintings carry the names of those who shared their words, holding both their voices and their presence within the landscape.
Collaboration is at the core of my practice. Through shared gestures, spoken words, and material exchanges, my work unfolds in dialogue with others—blurring the lines between individual and collective creation.

POUR MA TERRE NATALE /
FOR MY HOMETOWN
This series, created in 2016 during my artistic residency at the Maison du Portugal – André Gouveia in Paris, reflects on the landscapes that shape us—the places we carry with us, even in distance.
Each painting is inspired by a message spoken in a mother tongue—words of longing, connection, and belonging—collected from individuals of different nationalities, all temporarily living in Paris at the time. These voices became part of the work, layering memory and presence onto the landscapes of my hometown.
This was the first time I introduced fabric manipulations into my practice—sewing, cutting, and layering textures onto the painted surface. This material exploration became central to my later work, leading toward embroidery and textile-based pieces.
The series was first exhibited in 2016, in both Paris (FR) and S. Martinho de Anta (PT), before individual works traveled to exhibitions in France and Portugal, including:
ART SHOPPING – International Contemporary Art Fair, C.I.D., Deauville, 2021
ART SHOPPING – International Contemporary Art Fair, Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, 2021
Entre Pontos – Individual Exhibition, Centro Cultural Regional de Vila Real, 2017
