LANDSCAPES

I draw and paint landscapes—natural and urban—while researching how presence, memory, and perception intersect.

Lines and surfaces become gestures of reflexion, but also of belonging and displacement—tracing places both seen and remembered.

POUR MA TERRE NATALE /
FOR MY HOMETOWN

Created during an artistic residency at the Maison du Portugal – André Gouveia (2015-2018), this series explores memory, distance, and belonging.
Each painting traces a landscape from my hometown, shaped by words in different mother tongues—spoken by those who, like me, were living far from home.

This was the first series where fabric manipulation became part of my process—opening paths toward new material explorations in my later work.

Douro - shaped by both nature and man

The Douro Valley is a landscape of transformation—where nature and human presence have shaped each other over centuries. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its terraced vineyards, winding river, and steep hillsides tell a story of labor, adaptation, and enduring beauty.

Growing up in this region, I am inspired by the enduring spirit of its people, whose lives are intertwined with the land. Through painting, drawing, and photography, I explore how their resilience and traditions have indelibly marked the landscape, creating a harmonious blend of natural beauty and human endeavor.
